Sake Table
The Sake Table can be used for modelling the effects on structures of earthquakes at different vibration frequencies.
The metal table rests on a robust base, and can be made to move at a range of frequencies (approximately 1 to 15 Hz) using a magnet and coil arrangement.
Needs 6 V dc regulated and smoothed power supply.
It can be used to demonstrate how different structures resonate at different frequencies, or how sand can undergo ‘liquefaction’.
