Hollow Cylinder
Hollow Cylinder
Shows that an electrostatic charge resides only on the outer surface of a conductor. Two pith balls are suspended inside the cylinder and another pair on top. When the cylinder is charged, the outer balls with diverge, but the inner ones will be unaffected.
The metal cylinder 5cm diameter x 9cm length is mounted on an insulating rod attached to a heavy base.
Height 24 cm approx.
