Raspberry Pi 5
The latest generation of Raspberry Pi is here: a computer that does everything!
The highly anticipated Raspberry Pi 5 is here!
Now available!
Featuring a quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4 GHz, the Raspberry Pi 5 offers 2-3 times more CPU performance than the Raspberry Pi 4. Along with a significant increase in graphics performance from an 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU, dual display output with 4Kp60 via HDMI and camera support from a redesigned Raspberry Pi Image Signal Processor, it provides a smooth desktop experience.
For the first time, it features an IO chip from Raspberry PI built in-house.
The Southbridge RP1 provides the bulk of the I/O capabilities for the Raspberry Pi 5 and changes the performance and functionality of peripherals.
USB is more than doubled, delivering faster transfer speeds to external UAS units and other high-speed peripherals; the dedicated two-lane 1Gbps MIPI camera and display interfaces found in previous models have been replaced by a pair of four 1.5Gbps MIPI lanes, tripling the total bandwidth and supporting any combination of up to two cameras or displays; maximum SD card throughput is doubled, with support for SDR104 high-speed operation; and for the first time, the platform features a single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface, providing support for high-bandwidth peripherals.
